Fall is fast approaching...
This has been an unusual season (and not just due to Covid!)
We have loved delivering bouquets monthly to some of our loyal customers - It has been really great to finally figure out how to get our flowers into more of your homes, and we are planning for even more variety and delivery frequency in 2021.
We are seeing a very slow trickle of dahlias coming into bloom. Usually by September we are swimming in buckets and buckets of stems and this season it feels like each bloom is hard-earned (and much appreciated!) I am excited to add a few new varieties (I like to think of them as flavors!) to the mix in 2021 and definitely more plants to ensure no shortages (it will probably be a stellar season and I will probably be swimming in them again but I’d much rather have too many than not enough…)
One of my most favorite additions to our lineup in 2020 was the sale of our “Cut flower gardens to go” that we pre-sold for pick-up over Mother’s Day week (these are not just for mom’s though!!). These were a big hit and I am hoping that many more of you will want to add these into your gardens - a row of flowers in a vegetable patch really adds so much joy and invites the pollinators to do their work. The varieties we included in 2020 were pretty much all big hits - Zinnias in harder to find varieties, gomphrena, celosia, cosmos, basil, delphinium, eucalyptus, echinacea, strawflower and feverfew. We plan to keep these similar and perhaps add a branching sunflower to the mix in 2021. These gardens-to-go are already listed in our shop, feel free to also sign up for our newsletter to be reminded about them when we get closer to another gardening year.
Thanks as always for following along as we share the beauty that comes out of our fields!
